the consumer electronics industry right now and that's causing prices for all consumer electronics to go up because there's less being manufactured to go into that industry.

So it's kind of creating scarcity in a way.

So if like I said this to a few people over the last few months, if there's any electronics or technology in your daily life that you're thinking is getting to its end of use and maybe

needs to be renewed in the next six to twelve months, you actually should probably get its replacement now because it's not going to get any cheaper than it is today.

I was about to ask that.

I was like, Do they read unlock them to try and prevent that?

Yeah, of course they do.

Something I really don't like about that is that that's a nice way to create shared experiences.

People go on about how we don't have monoculture experiences anymore or they're much, much rarer now.

And that is a way to to seed one in your community, you know, like if someone on your road got a certain game and you all had the same console that could play it, hopefully.

You know, you could loan it out and and share it around and stuff like that and then create that idea.

And that was that happened with other things as well, like DVDs.

Someone got a DVD box set of a show that they binged on and loved and then shared it with another person and then, you know, it trickles out that way.

You get these cult successes that way as well.

It's like, we're not allowed to do that.

We're not allowed to create our own culture actually.

Sometimes I don't think the rationale is always about the most money.

I mean, usually that is the big, big, big motivator, but I think it's also about power and control.

I think that's actually a huge part of the motivation of these decisions too.
