Then we uh like completely beat it out of the country uh like Brandon said, starting in the sixties up until I think we got it out in the seventies.
Um, all the cases that were coming in were coming across the border from Mexico.
So then we had these sterile fly facilities um out in West Texas, I think there was one.
Pushed 'em all the way back, all the way back down into South America.
who were funding this facility and then the problem was no longer around because it was out of sight, out of mind.
And so they shut down funding for the facility and wouldn't you believe it, third world Central American nations didn't handle the problem and keep it resolved.
So it made its way back um as of what, a month ago?

But they well to answer your question, it was like back in the sixties and seventies it was like tens of millions of dollars.
And then believe it or not, the cattle or the population of cattle in the US is smaller now than it was back then because they kind of wrote off a bunch of those like losses to like blight and things.
So the expectation was that you'd have, you know, a thousand head of cattle and twenty percent of them are gonna die.
Well, uh medication got so much better that now if you have a thousand head of cattle, nine hundred and ninety eight of them are going to survive unless they're infected by this parasite where you cannot sell their meat.
