And Paradise Lost was, I think, the best known West Memphis murder case.

And those films, I did three of them over 20 years for HBO.

Those films literally helped get these guys off of death row and out of prison.

So my focus on crime has more been wrongful conviction.

But I'm sitting around the Thanksgiving table and I said to both of my very bright daughters, I'm thinking about doing this Ted Bundy thing.

What do you guys think?

And they're like, who's Ted Bundy?

I said, you know, the serial killer.

And they're like, they had no clue.

I said, that's interesting.

You have never heard of Ted Bundy?

And then I said, well, text your, and both of them, you know, obviously have friends who are at these very smart institutions.

I said, you know, text your friend Nemat and text your friend Allison.

And so literally nine out of 10 people in that age group

did not know who Ted Bundy was.

One of them thought he was a baseball player.

So I thought to myself, okay, if the basic message of Ted Bundy, if you could boil it all down to the idea that just because somebody is good looking and charming

be wary of trusting them.

Because right around this time, by the way, there was that murder of somebody who thought they were getting into an Uber and it was a fake Uber driver and that poor person was murdered.
