And that's kind of what I work tries to be, right?
One of those space.
So I think that fact that we are even having this conversation is already part of the answer.
How do I feel about the future?
It's a mix of everything hope, anxiety, determination, sometimes all in the same day.
I think anyone our age will tell you they're completely confident of the about the future is either lying or not really paying attention.
What concerns me the most is probably the speed gap, like the crisis are moving faster than the system designed to address them.
Climate negotiations.
negotiation are still painfully slow.
Democratic institutions feel increasingly fragile and meanwhile the window to act is getting smaller and smaller.
That's generally scary.
And there is also this exhaustion factor that I don't think gets talked about enough.
A lot of young activists and engaged people I know are tired, not because they are stopped caring, but because they've been caring so intensely for so long, often without f without feeling hurt.
Burnout in activ in activism is real and it's a problem.
But then what gives me hope?
Honestly, people like the woman wave project crew because they it wasn't just symbolic.
It was reminder that you can choose how you can show up.
They didn't wait for a seat at the table, they literally sailed to the table.
What give me the most hope
is the quality of thinking I see in my generation.
