I'd spent a lot of time going- Are you older or younger than your- I'm the oldest.
Yeah, I'm big six.
Three years.
And I'd gone to SMU, graduated a year early, went over to Uganda to help start up a social enterprise and did that off and on for six years.
Started having babies, commute got a little hard to Uganda with babies.
And we moved to North Carolina, where my husband's from, to run the family business on his side, which came with a newly-endowed foundation, the Phillips Foundation, which I've been running since 2013.
And so we had day jobs.
We were having kids.
My brother was really struggling.
I remember being pregnant with my first son, and I would get these calls from my mom or my dad, and they'd be like, we just had to put Trey in treatment.
He's not doing well.
And...
It was just a roller coaster until he died.
But I didn't really know what had happened to Trey.
I remember when he was 21, Pete Newman was arrested.
So I would have been 24.
Pete Newman was arrested and ultimately sentenced to three life terms.
Seven felony counts of child sexual abuse.
Yeah.
And I balk at Camp Kanekuk because these boys were abused all over the place.
