I mean, the title of this book is not to imply that we should be saying these things.
It's just that we don't.
There's so many things that we don't say.
And I actually think that's fine.
I mean, I have no judgment on this at all.
I'm just sort of trying to report what we do as human beings here on Earth.
And we try and make our way.
That's all.
We're just all trying to make our way and, you know, finagle our way around our people and our lives.
And so some things get said and some things don't.
Yes, that was very much what was in my mind as I was writing.
I was realizing more and more.
And it's been sort of a leitmotif of my work, I think, increasingly that we are mysteries to each other and mysteries to ourselves as well.
No, I haven't figured it out.
Really?
Not one thing.
Just keep reporting on it.

I mean, I actually find it quite interesting.
You know, I don't find it depressing that we're so mysterious.
