In Maine, there would be bean hole suppers, they called them.

What's that?

A bean hole supper is where you bake beans in the ground.

Not obviously straight in the ground, but in a big can.

You have all these different kinds of beans.

You go and you have the different beans and you talk to people.

It's not like a cocktail party, actually.

It's very lovely.

Right.

And I do think that that has been eroding steadily.

I don't know, again, because of the social media, because of the pandemic, because of the political situation, you know, I don't know.

But there's just a sense of people not particularly coming together publicly the way we used to.
