I'm 22 years old and I'm from Dublin.
I'm just here for the summer on a J1.
So it's my last year of college.
So my last year to do one.
So I thought I'd come.
New York's a good city to do it in, I thought.
no I've been on a few trips only for a few days though but this is the longest I've been here for I'm just here with my boyfriend so just me and him in the apartment but there's loads it's really easy to make friends and the accommodation everyone's Irish everyone's the same age so yeah
No, both, yeah.
Actually, the work is quite fun because I never worked in a bar at home before.
But the work doesn't feel like work when you're chatting to people all day and people are having a crack, so it's good.
But no, I've definitely done a lot of exploring and socialising.
I feel like it's a good mix of both.
Staff are nearly all Irish.
But in terms of customers, you definitely get people coming because it's Irish.
But then you get a lot of Americans who come and want the full Irish experience.
They love the spice bag, the curry fries.
They love them.
And they love that the staff are Irish as well.
They're always so like, oh, this is really authentic.
