So I never experienced feeling othered there.

And then it was only when I started secondary school and it wasn't because of the school itself.

It is just the age that I was going to secondary school.

Yeah, but a tough time for any kind of teenager going through adolescence, having that body change and then realising that you're different from everyone else.

And then there's that thing that

You can't change, like it's not like you can change your hair colour, which I do all the time.

It's one of those things that I couldn't change about myself.

So the only thing that I could do was hide.

And the only place I actually couldn't hide was in the pool.

So like swimming became my safety.

It was like my safe haven.

It was the only place where...

I could just be myself.

And the reason I struggled as well is because there was nobody like me in the media.

And that's why as I've gotten older and the more confident that I've become and with swimming as well, like not a lot of people with disabilities get the opportunity to do media.

So as soon as I'm in front of a camera, as soon as I get a chance to be on TV, I have my arm out showing it off to everyone.

Why this song?

So as I said, had the headphones on before I raced all the time.

This is a song that like every listener now is going to, after hearing this song, is going to want to get up and do something.

It's such an empowering song.
