to see this happy child to know like it's your last time gonna see him and stuff like you know I just felt so cruel like so cruel for them like as well like to see this happy child playing with his balloon to know as soon as you leave I'm gonna have to turn this machine down it was so tough so like
Obviously, like, everybody was so upset and stuff, and I'll never forget her, like, them having to say goodbye to him and stuff, and to leave, and then as soon as they leave, she, like, the pilot team come in, it's like, great, we have to go, we have to do this, like, you know, and, like, obviously, it's for real, he's suffering, like, you know, we have no choice, so he turned it down, and he kind of handled it well, he was okay, like...
And then like the night kind of went on and it was fine.
There was a nurse there with him.
And then that night I slept like he was in downstairs room here and I was in the room next to him.
I stayed downstairs just to be close to him.
like just playing, like, I've never had anything like that before, like when I woke up and I was in streams of tears.
And I went in and I could just see that change in him again, like I could see, I remember saying to the nurse, I was like, he doesn't look okay.
We got the kids together and stuff, and we all kind of stayed in the room with him, and the lads jumped up on the bed.
And we were just waiting for him to die.
He kind of started breathing slowly and slowly.
Up to the point where the lads were looking around the room, getting bored.
They were like, can we go?
so to be fair like that went on for hours but like just to say like they had to sedate him like you know when we took off before we took off the white belt we had to sedate him like we had to just make sure that he didn't feel anything that he wasn't anxious or anything that was my most important thing for me was that he wouldn't be anxious you know or scared so that went on for like 23 hours or something he survived but he kept kind of coming and going and nearly going and he wouldn't and
We just listened to music, like we just listened to so much music for those kind of two days.
And then we're lucky enough, we had Ellen and Eileen, who were also the Jack and Jill, they were his godparents.
So they were there for kind of his last day and Eileen went to work and Ellen kind of stayed and she was his nurse for the night.
Like, you could never just wrap your arms around him.
Like you would for other kids.
