But as I mentioned, Heapscape came in and they decided they're going to put on this new performance space and they kind of went and renovated it and set it up so that it could be used in a bunch of different ways.

As I mentioned earlier, it wasn't always called Divine Playhouse though.

Well, they actually originally called it Unholy Playhouse.

And they said that was a nod to the venue's history.

And I'll play a little clip from Kat Dopper.

She is the person behind Heaps Gay.

And I had a chat with her earlier last week.

Here's what she said.

So what ended up happening is 12 hours before Unholy Playhouse was going to open, they got a call from the landlord who said, I've been getting a lot of calls and complaints from the Christian community about it being called Unholy Playhouse.

So they acted very quickly.

They said we didn't want to cause any offense.

So they went in and changed the name to Divine.

Kat said that was then the last time that she spoke to the landlord.

And at that point in time, they were super happy that they had come to the table and changed the name so quickly.

Yeah, we have been singing it in the office because it is the first thing you think of when you hear this story.

So they've had this opening night.

It was supported by the city of Sydney and they were doing this big opening.

And at the same time, there was actually a prayer group that were doing a protest prayer across the road from this opening night.

Yes, exactly.

Now that quickly gathered a lot of traction online as well.
