So Premier Chris Minns was a bit cautious in his response.
He's been trying to toe the line a little bit because there's two big communities that are, you know, in his electorate and in his state that are both deeply upset by this issue.
He said that they would be reviewing whether the programming being put on in the venue lined up with the application that led to them getting that grant.
But he also conceded that
quote, it's hard to believe that the church was the best location for that to be put on.
Yes, but he was more so saying that he thinks it should have been put on somewhere else.
Like there's plenty of venues.
He wasn't saying that he had an issue with the content itself or the fact that they wanted to put on these types of events.
That was interesting, though, because New South Wales Minister for Arts and Music, John Graham, was much more on the side of the venue and the organisers.
He said that Divine Playhouse closing its doors is a step backwards for Sydney.
And he said, quote, we need more performance spaces and venues, not less.

The Lord Mayor, Clever Moore, she had similar sentiments to what the Arts Minister said.
She said, quote, Sydney deserves a nightlife that is interesting, vibrant and full of imagination.
And Sydney's queer communities deserve places to create, perform, laugh, dance and belong.
