There's a couple things.

Number one, how bad their rush defense was all year, regular season and playoffs.

How are they going to fix that?

And number two, clearly, McDavid and Dreisaitl, the wear and tear on them.

And McDavid in particular talked about it a little bit.

But some of that is probably going to be, hey, if it's 6-3 late in the game, maybe you don't get power play time or something like that, right?

I think they'll go to them and say, hey, is there a way we can lighten your load?

And B, can we strengthen the roster around you?

And I do think as big a conversation this year is going to be the way the Oilers play

as opposed to also, I think obviously personnel is going to matter, but the way the Oilers play is going to have to be a thing here.

I have to say, Bob, like I'm on the outside, absolutely.

But I think you want – I like the options to do both.

um but you know what like maybe you're right like you see them more than i do i i think you have to create the option to do both and you have the ability to do both and be flexible flexibility is key um but i i think like i i do think a key there is that

um and i always think this is important you have to make more players feel important 100 i think like like there's no question and and it's not all the oilers fault but one of the things that i i kind of heard that they were looking at is there's been a lot of players who've been good players who've come to edmonton and it hasn't worked

Now, I thought Murphy and Dickinson this year were really good fits.

But, you know, Frederick hasn't worked.

And they've got a big commitment to him.

Mangiapane hasn't worked.
