I mean, look, it's something that I think some people have been aware of for a few days.

I mean, I'd heard rumors.

I was working on it.

I was trying to determine how real it was.

Darren was the first one to get it out, so he deserves the credit.

But I'd heard they were...

Considering it, it was something I was looking into.

I didn't know if it would be allowed to happen.

That's one of the things I was trying to figure out.

I was trying to figure out who knew, who approved it, who had given their best wishes to it.

I think I have answers to a lot of those questions, but not all.

The other thing I was trying to figure out was,

Why now?

You know, we are still waiting for 100% clarity on Bruce Cassidy.

And what this tells me is that the Oilers don't believe they're going to be allowed to talk to Cassidy.

And while I can't say with 100% certainty that's true, I think there is legitimate reason for them to believe that.
