But if I'm going to be acting at those times, there is a good reason why I shouldn't be
acting at and and conscious of several different times at the same time because that's gonna lead to all sorts of very strange causal paradoxes and causal loops and things.
So I think if you think of consciousness as being more active and more agential then then I think perhaps this looking in picture suggests
That gives you perhaps a f to me a clearer sense of of why we have this this why our experience has this particular temporal form, why we experience being located at times, why we feel as if we're moving through times.
Um so so I
I uh for me that motivates perhaps thinking about consciousness a little bit differently, less as a looking in and more as an active involvement in the world, if that makes sense.

Right, but I mean, you know, I think we we are able y if you look at the way consciousness works, it seems like we're sort of this sum consciousness of a spa a whole spatial region.
It's not a single space-time point.
Uh and so you might think, okay, if consciousness in some sense supervenes on this whole space spatial region, why can't it space also supervene on several times at once?
Why is is time is the w our experience of time seems quite sharp in a way that our experience of space is not?
we sort of seem to be very much located at one time uh
and to to to not have the sort of ability to hold in our awareness several different times uh simultaneously.
Uh and so I th I think
Understanding the temporal structure of consciousness to me does require telling a story where consciousness is not purely a a passive looking but involves is is very much involved in the the in agency and in making decisions and and you can sort of see how that's going to lead to a certain kind of temporal structure to consciousness.
Yes, exactly.
Right.
Right, but I think I mean you're sort of assuming that the brain has to supervene on or the conscious experience must supervene on some slice.
And agree, if it's just supervening on a slice, then you will only have consciousness of of the the time at that slice.
But I guess my question is why why does it have to be supervened that way?
