Next we have Council Member McAllister.

Thank you, Mayor.

I will not be supporting the motion because Council Member Ramirez kept saying all these bad actors.

I've been on council for 10 years, and I have never heard the city of Mountain being accused of a bad actor.

If anything, I've always heard Mountain View being a leader in building of housing.

And so when that came up, I go, Mountain View will do what's best for Mountain View residents.

And there's two ways to do it, is by policies that we have done, and the second is the elective policy of where they elect people that have those kind of views, and you can control local input on housing through your election.

When I heard of local control, I've seen there's a lot of things just more than housing that can be involved, and we get a lot of unfunded mandates, how we have to do certain things because of other actions that the state says we have to do, and yet we don't, we're taking money away from other important projects that we want to get done.

And so we want to make sure that we have control of our budgeting and how we go forward.

And in those ways that I mentioned, I think Mountain View is able to take care of local control and satisfy a lot of people's needs.

And I'm very proud of what we've done in the past.

So with that saying, I think Mountain View should take care of their own issues.
