So I will, I,
to wait for more information.
And so for that reason, I will not be supporting the motion.
Thank you, Council Member Hicks.
Council Member McAllister.
I like the idea that the Council Member Hicks mentioned about a neutral.
And I don't know if it makes sense, but to me, if we took a neutral vote tonight, it would just at least say, okay, we got something on the
a neutral, we do have it covered one way or the other.
It covers all ideas and then we can confirm it when we get back together.
But I do support giving our delegates direction on this particular item.
Council Member Ramirez.
All right, Council Member Kamei.
Oh yeah, and I think Mr. Cruz can help provide an update once the meeting on the 17th happens and let us know.
I'd be curious if the Housing Committee might ask that be removed anyways.
I think that's what I'm interested to see if that happens.
City Manager McCarthy.
Thank you, so council, I'm thinking too that another avenue we can pursue besides seeing how it plays out on the 17th, we can bring you the update on the 22nd, is to also engage with our state lobbyists on this issue and work with them on a way that we can try, I don't wanna use the word ensure, but try to advocate for Mountain View to have a seat at the table of whatever comes of this.
So if it's clear that the council
is not open or isn't interested in a constitutional amendment or initiative, but if there is some sort of committee or some sort of working group to discuss this issue, that at least Mountain View's voice could be heard.
That's certainly something that we can also pursue with our state lobbyists.
