It is a pleasure to be here this evening to share an update of the work that we have been able to accomplish in partnership with the City of Mountain View.
First, I would like to sincerely thank the Mountain View City Council and the City of Mountain View for your continued investment in our community and for supporting
independence, stability, and quality of life.
Through this program, SVILC was able to assist 39 low-income
consumers and we are proud to have
The individuals we served included residents experiencing homelessness, transitioning from nursing facilities or living in unstable or temporary housing.
Through housing workshops and individualized one-to-one housing counseling, consumers received education and support to help them identify affordable and accessible housing opportunities.
Our services include helping consumers understand housing eligibility requirements, identify appropriate housing resources, complete housing applications and connect with community resources.
Most importantly, we worked alongside with each consumer to help them build the knowledge, confidence and skills that they need to pursue safe, stable and accessible housing.
For many individuals with disabilities, finding housing is about much more than securing a place to live.
Accessible and affordable housing is foundational to independence, health, safety, and the ability to remain connected to one's community.
We are grateful to the City of Mountain View for recognizing the importance of this work and for partnering with SBLC to ensure the residents with disabilities have access to meaningful resources and opportunities.
