It was also really scary, but also really good storytelling.
Yeah.
Well, this one, I want to caveat it by saying Cost of Living Crisis.
And while the first episode is free at the moment...
From the second episode onwards, it's behind a paywall.
But I did look it up and it's a New York Times podcast and it's like $1 a week.
So my advice is you subscribe for one week and then you remember to cancel it.
That's never going to happen.
I know.
But if you're the kind of person who can do that.
You just get texts from your partner like I do going, is this you?
You're like, no.
But the podcast is called The Idiot.
It's a co-production between Serial, as in like the Serial podcast, and New York Times podcast.
And it's by journalist M. Gessen.
And Gessen is a New York Times reporter, and this mixes true crime with family drama in the most interesting way.
So it starts with Gessen talking about how in their family there's this certain cousin who's just always been a little bit odd.
And you get an insight into just the weirdness and you're also very aware of like, oh, everyone's got that cousin, don't they, who's just a bit of an oddball.
And quite quickly it becomes clear that this cousin is now in prison because the cousin tried to put like a, there was a murder plot for the cousin's wife.
And so it's true crime meets family drama, which makes it just so it's just got all the elements of great storytelling.
