I think, you know, I know countless women who actually are thinking about having a kid by themselves.
I mean, that's still wanting a baby, though, to be fair.
But that disappointment that there aren't enough
men out there, it seems that want to kind of settle down in that way.
If I'm being honest, when I wrote my novel and there was quite a lot of media attention around my book, I declined doing interviews about the declining birth rate because I felt like it was a panic that had this undercurrent of wanting to control women, essentially.
We don't like this decline and we must have it this way.
And I think it takes out of...
The picture that these decisions are because of individuals choosing something because something is not working for them.
And this kind of mass panic around, you know, have an opinion on like this movement.
It's like, well, it's just a few women who don't want to do it.
And also we don't have to have a reason why.
Like so many people want to know why.
Is it because of the finances?
Is it because of the housing crisis?
Is it because of... It's like, yes, probably all of that.
but also some women just don't want to.
