I just listened to Elizabeth Day's interview with her on how to fail, and she reflected on how, like, these are the days in which sexism was just so normalized in the workplace.

And I wanted to the New Yorker published her final essay a few days ago in kind of commemoration of um her life and acknowledging her death.

And I just wanted to read a few lines from that article and then look at a few of the kind of major things that have changed throughout her lifetime.

So she says.

As I write this, the world seems in a tailspin.

Many feel that all the progress we've made is being reversed.

When you're lucky enough to have lived a long life as I have done, your role as an older person is to remind us how far we have come.

In my own life, women were invisibilized in public and even by language itself.

I remember times when thoughtful male journalists would look at a room full of women and report, There's no one here.

Or when I and other women had an idea, the only way we could express it was by having the man next to us state it.

So I love that in the first instance essay she's writing, It's my job as a woman who has seen many decades pass to remind you all that however depressing things can look right now, and she mentions Trump a lot in an interview I listened to with Elizabeth Day,
