And with that has come this idea that you must get good sleep, because if you don't then
I was reading an article.
Actually I wasn't reading it because I don't tend to read these articles, but there was a headline saying, you know, poor sleep is linked to dementia in women or all these sort of scandalous
distressing articles or headliners that make us more anxious about sleep.
But truly what is it that we need to think about when we think about good sleep when it comes to the individual?
Because I've had moments in my life, especially around having babies, hormonal transitions where my sleep has been more elusive.
And it is crazy making, as in it is something that
I found myself getting obsessed with and I'm trained in CBTI.
And I found it incredibly frustrating, depleting.
not to be able to sleep what I felt I needed.
It was particularly hard when I had children, when I had babies.
And they were sleeping.
And I was telling myself, you must sleep because you don't know how long you have until they're awake again.
And just that pressure.
Yes.
Oh, it was it was it was real crazy making behaviour to the extent that
Actually had my husband sleep with the babies and I would remove myself.
But so what are we looking at when we think about ideal sleep?
How do we track that?
It if it if it isn't a number of hours, what should it be?
