I sat down with Matthew McConaughey.

He called me from a no-caller ID number.

This is a true story, ladies and gentlemen.

McConaughey says, hey, I want to sit down with you for your second episode of Uncomfortable Conversations.

Mind you, I was producing it myself, Ed.

I rented out a studio space in Austin by myself.

I was not yet a mainstay television personality.

I literally hired a wedding videographer because I had no video team.

I found a friend who shot weddings.

I said, please stand in, shoot this for me.

So McConaughey watches the first episode.

It had been seen by 25 million people in five days.

And he says, hey, I want to have a conversation.

I do not know to this day how he got my number.

Me and Matthew McConaughey, we sit down for a conversation.

Five days later, after that conversation airs, I get a call from another no caller ID number.

I pick it up.

I, Emmanuel, Oprah Winfrey speaking.

I say, Oprah, she says, yeah, are you free to FaceTime later today?

I FaceTimed her later that afternoon.
