But you wonderfully describe Rosa as um she had an explorer's face and fine, easy carriage.

I wanted a friend like her actually.

So how how did Rosa come into the story?

What was it about her that captured your imagination?

Oh, that makes sense.

Oh, sh I should have thought of that.

Yeah, she is a little homage to it.

So but alongside love and friendship there's also betrayal and that comes to us through the character of Doctor Cresson's wife Mathilde.

Her agenda

kind of comes central to the story at the end as you're tying all the story pieces together.

As a writer, did you did you think or did you envisage the ending and how there's and tying their stories together like that?

Yeah, well well that was great, wasn't it?

Um I was also thinking when reading the book about place because it does feel incredibly important in the novel.

You yourself, Elizabeth, you were born in New York, you've lived in Ireland, you now live in the in France, in south of France, and all three places are present in the book.

Do you think of place as another character in the book when you're writing and

You know, I after seeing these places, they still continue to inspire you, don't they, very much.
