Yeah, no, I was actually messaging with Peach, who I've had as a colleague and a friend and even worked together a little bit over the years.
I remember when he asked me to come on his podcast a long, a long ways back before I think he was on the actual coaching staff for years.
for GB I could be wrong and he's probably like no you dick I was and you know maybe maybe not but um yeah he sent me the link just recently because I sent him a message and I was like dude this is awesome blah and um and he reminded me like hey you know you didn't have to come on this this this podcast but I want to say it was way back in the day and uh watching him come up and I know how
His goals are to be the best coach he can be.
I think he has a great perspective and definition on that.
I think he's well on his way.
It's not just being able to coach a whole bunch of world champions or just be perceived that way, but it's also to be able to
work with a broad range of sex, weight, age categories, nationalities, and help people develop from early in their career to their peak.
And not everyone's peak is world-class, right?
And I think that attitude is pretty pervasive across a lot of the key players in Team GB.
Like, I know their current CEO president, I'm not sure...
it's called charlie you know she's awesome um she had me out and several others to uh you know like a an educational event a couple years back and i've just seen a lot of cohesive effort and people who are putting their egos aside for the most part i mean we're all humans and i just say that because i'm sure there are instances where someone on gp might roll their eyes and be like not everybody
I also know how Brits operate.
So, you know, they're not going to take the praise and they will talk some shit, which is part of their their their attitude, which I love.
But I've just been very impressed, even just from afar, being reasonably distant and not in the mix of it like Matt with how they've tried to professionalize their federation coaching staff and approach and how much it seems like they've gotten a lot of buy in from their athletes and
And I think it's a great example of how a smaller country can really leverage all of its assets to be competitive with a country that has nearly 10 times its population.
So, I mean, if you look at it, the U.S.
and GB, you can't say that one of them did better.
One was first on one side and one was second on the other side in both cases.
You had one and two being U.S., men and women's side.
