Today we have a special guest, the founder of Essay Launch, James Rizzo, whose business is to help applicants write with their essays, sorry, write their essays, and in his case for college, undergrad mostly, as he'll explain.
But we met recently and we at NBA Waves were intrigued.
But not surprised that the issues of essay writing is similar with both application processes.
So James, to get us started, tell us a little about yourself, please, like the time with the tech companies you were with before and how you came to helping students write essays.
Yeah, I'm glad to I'm glad to hear that you find essay uh essay coaching and consulting a real job.
I mean, what you guys are talking about sounds a lot like something I think I said the last time we got into an AI centered discussion here in Waves, also in some articles I've written and that
Is it the AI, you know, ChatGPT, for example, Mistral, et cetera, are kind of scanning the internet for information, previous examples of writing that response to your question.
It sort of like smushes it all up and produces something that is kind of an average sum of all of those pre-existing uh texts.
And so when you do that, you're getting something that is just very average, flat, boring, unauthentic, or
Inauthentic, unoriginal, and that's not compelling.
That's not exciting.
That doesn't captivate the audience.
I mean, the assignment is like they want to know who you are.
They're asking you these questions to learn about you in your authentic voice and what is your unique story.
