That's my daily practice.

And for a long time I've tried to help them.

And my ethos has been be helpful.

So if

I don't ask, are you worthy of my attention or time?

I don't say, is it likely that your startup will succeed?

I try to treat everybody as if I always ask myself, well, what if it succeeded?

Then what?

And work from there.

So I'm not evaluating startups.

I'm not an investor most of the time.

I'm not an evaluator.

I'm trying to be a helper.

And so I've gotten a lot of practice in helping people with the issues that come up as entrepreneurs.

And I used to talk only about lean startup stuff, but I started over time started asking people, what is your vision?

What is your mission?

What are you trying to accomplish?

Because I started working with companies that had grown large enough that I could see how early mistakes that they make.

Ultimately led to betrayals down the road.

So I started asking founders about that stuff at the beginning.
