Was that really gonna work for me now?
Like I found those stories.
Is very unsatisfying.
And meanwhile, I'm trying to run a startup where I'm trying to put a new set of principles into practice.
I was trying to get people to be more iterative, more scientific in their decision making, to go faster, be more efficient, and more humane.
I really felt like that was a way to put humanity at the center of entrepreneurship instead of just the cold numbers and dollars.
And I didn't realize at the time how revolutionary or radical people would perceive those ideas as.
I thought it was just common sense to me.
Oh, just
But oh no, people thought it was completely crazy.
So it took me a long time, just in my job, just as a founder, to explain to people why we did things the way we did them and eventually to give them vocabulary and language.
And when I started writing about it and speaking about it publicly, I galvanized so many people who were excited about it.
That's ultimately what led me to write the book, was just to document what I had found helpful to me in my own career, but what so many
Yeah, so that is ultimately why I wrote the book.
Well, okay, in retrospect, I can say that it was a slow burn because I didn't know what it was gonna be like.
But at the time it felt like a real whirlwind, even from the very beginning, because people were just so interested in what it was.
And to me, having never really done a lot of public speaking, hadn't done public writing, I was mostly an engineer.
So I hadn't had that experience of hundreds of people crowded into a ballroom to hear me speak before, you know, to be able to have to answer questions on the fly, to be getting fan mail and emails and invited to speak at things like that.
All that was new to me.
So it felt very dramatic.
