Yeah, the relationship between what philosophers sometimes call the content of, say, sensory experience, and maybe pain as a kind of sensory experience, some people call it nociception.

Some philosophers distinguish between the content of the experience and the phenomenology of the experience, and then it's an interesting question to what extent those pull apart.

Now, in the case of something like pain in the right knee versus the left knee, I think...

That in a normal case, although I wouldn't necessarily take this 100% for granted, there would be at least a difference in experienced egocentric location.

So the pain in the left knee might be felt as though in a location more to your left side than the pain in the right knee.

Now, I don't know.

I mean, sometimes we have illusions about the positions of our body.

And some people even report having pain experiences that aren't even enclosed in their egocentrically experienced body.

So I have a pain two feet to my left, to the left of my shoulder out there in space somewhere.

So there's weird stuff that people report.

But let's say that we think about... So in that kind of case, I suspect there would be at least...

that spatial difference generally in the experience of it.

But there might be other cases where it seems like there's a difference in content and no difference in phenomenology at all.

So let's say that there's a golf ball that you're looking at.

And you don't know this, but this golf ball was hit by Tiger Woods.

You have no idea about this, do you?

It just looks like an ordinary golf ball.

And imagine exactly the same situation, except it's a golf ball that was never hit by Tiger Woods.

In one case...

You're looking at a golf ball that was hit by Tiger Woods, and in another case you're not.
