But it seems like in the addict, that doesn't happen. matched

There's a theory that addiction is a learning disorder. matched

And the problem is that you, as we calculate reward value based on what we do, matched

We update it, right? matched

I do something, it feels good. matched

Okay, do more of that. matched

I do something, it feels bad. matched

Do less of that. matched

And we just, we're all kind of making those calculations all the time. matched

One of the theories is that in the addict's brain, it gets stuck. matched

And that calculation does not update. matched

That somehow it's still stuck on doing this is good, even though all sorts of terrible shit starts happening. matched
