The DOJ said earlier this month that it was creating the fund as part of a settlement of a $10 billion lawsuit by President Trump against the IRS for the leak of his tax records by an IRS employee.

Critics have called it a slush fund for Trump allies, including people who participated in the January 6th Capitol riot.

In a separate ruling, a Washington federal judge blocked the Kennedy Center board from closing the decades-old performing arts venue and renaming it for President Trump.

The judge also barred the center from displaying any signage on the building, indicating that it is named for any person other than President John F. Kennedy.

Meanwhile, Fed Vice Chair Michelle Bowman says it's too soon to judge the inflationary impact from the war in Iran and that policymakers need to look through temporary price shocks.

In a speech earlier today outlining her approach to monetary policy, Bowman said she supported officials' decision last month to maintain language in their post-meeting statement that suggested additional rate cuts are a possibility.

That separates her from a growing number of policymakers who want the central bank to signal their next move is just as likely to be a rate hike as a reduction.

Shares in Dell Technologies soaring after the hardware maker gave an outlook for annual sales that far surpassed analysts' estimates.

OpenAI has reportedly spoken with banks including Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase about working on its upcoming initial public offering.
