So that's not a small number, right?
It's estimated that in the US, if everyone based on guidelines who was recommended to be on medicine to lower their cholesterol was actually on a medicine for this, like a statin, we could prevent 1 million cardiovascular disease events like heart attack, stroke, and death in 10 years.

That's a lot.
And that's just in the U.S.
where we have much better access.
In low and middle income countries, it's estimated that only one in 10 people who would be recommended to be on some kind of medicine to lower their cholesterol are actually on a medicine because they don't have access.
