And globally, I said already, this is a much more prevalent pathogen, even than I realized.
In some areas where it is endemic, like in parts of Latin America and in Southeast Asia, prevalences can range from 10 to 40 percent in some populations, meaning that that parasite is just around.
It's just around.
It's infecting people.
Some of them show symptoms and some of them don't.
So far in places like the U.S.
and Europe,
It has not been considered endemic.
However, there's a lot of questions as to whether or not it really is, because like you said, Erin, in the past, a lot of times outbreaks have been associated with produce that has been imported.
