I really had my own story that I wanted to tell.

And so getting fired did sort of shake things up.

It was like my biggest fear realized, oh my God, what if I'm a bad writer?

What if I'm bad at doing this?

And then I just sort of took this opportunity to try to develop something of my own.

And the chances of getting something like that sold is like nothing.

But I didn't know that at the time because I was so new at it.

I had tried to sell one show.

It didn't sell.

How old are you at this point?

I'm 30 at this point.

So you're young.

Right?

Well, it depends on how you look at it, right?

I mean, I feel like it's young to go out and be shopping your own show.

It is, but also I think it's a good reminder for women who are 30.

Because 30 is such a scary age.

I was 29 turning 30.

It's such a scary age where you think that you have to have everything already figured out.

And 30 is when I was just starting to understand what my superpower was.
