Uh my playing experience, which was long ago, um was club in the Bay Area and um I ended up going to Santa Clara and played under one of I s who I still consider one of the best coaches ever is Jerry Smith.
Um so I played under Jerry and then went on in the
First professional league which was what WPS I think I think that's right.
Yeah, I should know this.
So yeah, so I played for San Diego Spirit and um after that just went into coaching and having my kids and um now I started coaching back in the club in MBLA where my husband started playing since he's you know, six years old and have been there ever since.
And I think that's rare.
You don't see a lot of people kinda staying in the same club for a long period.
So the club means a lot to us and coaching, um
you know, just came because I was a teacher originally and then I took it to the field and um and just fell in love with it and do it because I love it, not
for any other reason.
Um and we've been able to have some success.
And then we had both of my kids go through the club.
Um and I saw the memories that they created and the friendships they developed in environments like this that they still talk about and wish that
they had another showcase they could play in and be with their teammates and even arriving this weekend we're like, Hey, that's where the old fours played last game and um and it just brings back so so many memories that um we're back with new new teams, new generations coming through and
Stay here a while.
I think there's so much pressure on
the competitive side and you have to win and you have to prepare and you have to do all these things which we we do but it can be so much pressure on these kids.
We also want to know it's part of your growth to go through these moments, these showcases, play these some of the
some of the best teams in the country, get some of the best coaches, best players in the country.
And I think you you grow along the the whole journey.
