It is as if they took all the inheritance from the baby boomers and just stole it instead of coming down to the next generation.

It has gone to Asia because that's where this is happening.

So when we think about how to quantify it, it's difficult because A, not everyone is reporting because they've deliberately chosen a crime that is embarrassing and people don't want to come forward.

But B, we just don't have a good accounting of how big this problem is.

What AARP will tell you is maybe one in 10 people are reporting this crime.

So when we look at the statistics, we do have

We have 2024 FBI numbers saying that there was $6.8 billion in investment scams and fraud reported, plus three quarters of a million in romance scams this year.

And that adds up to $7 billion.

This year, those same categories add up to $10 billion.

So from $7 billion to $10 billion.

If you multiply that by seven, which is conservative, one in seven reporting, you've got $50 billion in 2024 alone, United States alone, jumping up in 2025 to $70 billion, United States alone.

And so what we're seeing isn't even so much the numbers as the increase.

And what I can tell you is this crime has doubled in the amount of money it's stolen from us since 2023.

It is on an incredibly steep trajectory.

And that's our problem.
