It's everywhere.
I can tell you, I have six people in my immediate social circle who have been hit with some sort of scam in the last year.
And I'd love to say, and no, not one has reported it.
That's what's happening out there is this is happening and we can't even quantify it yet.
So why payments people need to care is because one, it's happening to someone you know, but also because
because they are taking advantage of your company to move this money.
That's what these bad actors do.
Initially, it was all cryptocurrency.
Then they started doing wires.
They started using couriers to move money.
They still use gift cards to move money.
They will use any means of
money movement because that's what they're experts in.
They're experts in getting you to part with your money and then once they have it, to move it in ways to conceal their bad activity.
So when we think about why people need to care about this, it's because it's not just
This isn't the Nigerian prince.
This is organized crime at scale operating out of compounds with tens of thousands of human trafficked victims being responsible for running these scams under threat of violence.
We've got a massive global crisis with devastated victims on both sides of the equation.
Sure.
I frequently use that term a generation's worth of wealth because that's what it is.
