And I think it's something that we all need to learn because there aren't other people generally who are teaching us this.

You know, we don't learn it in high school.

I think most of us would say we grew up, you know, amongst adults that maybe didn't teach us this or show us this.

So it's something that we have to kind of seek out on our own.

Yeah, and I think at that moment, when you realize, oh, this is something that I need, I think, at least for me, and I see this a lot in the personal finance community, people kind of gravitate towards, okay, getting good at money is about discipline.

hunkering down, saving lots of money, not spending, or it's about math.

And so, you know, that basically excludes over half the population, right?

If you're like, well, I'm not good at math or I'm not, you know, I don't have a ton of discipline just naturally.

You're just ultimately led to believe that you can't be good at this thing that we call managing money.

Listening to this podcast the other day, and they were talking about savings.

And how do you actually save?

Because I think the context was, you know, people generally struggle with savings.

And

I was just screaming on the other end.

Because the advice that was being given was just, yeah, get really disciplined and find other areas of life where you're disciplined and implement the same thing with your money.

With this whole getting good at money being a skill thing, I don't think the focus... In fact, I know the focus is not on outcomes.

It's not saving X amount of dollars or anything like that or spending X amount of dollars.

I think the focus is on the process.

And we're going to get into that of what this skill actually looks like.

But I'm convinced that getting good at money is not outcome oriented.
