And you can get really nerdy with your payees.

But what I like about it, and here's the trick, is that YNAB, as it gets to know your payees, it will start automatically categorizing them for you.

But that's not always helpful.

So the trick is that you can uncheck that box so YNAB doesn't automatically categorize them moving forward.

So I always run into this issue with big box stores.

You know, the situation like with Amazon, with Costco, where you spend across multiple categories.

Well, I don't want YNAB to bring up those four categories the next time I go to Amazon or Costco.

So...

I just always uncheck that box.

And let me just kind of show you exactly what's going on here.

So let's go to Costco because we have to, right?

Of course.

The way it is right now, as soon as I, and this is even with when I enter manual transactions, I bring up that Costco payee and YNAB automatically pulls in

The groceries category.

Well, I don't want it to do that.

So I'm going to go to manage payees, find that Costco.

And here's the trick.

I'm going to uncheck automatically categorize payee because now when I add it or it imports, there won't be a category and I get to choose.

Yeah.

This has saved me time.
