But if you want to be mayor of this city, you're going to have to be a diplomat.
And diplomacy requires making sure you are keeping lines of communication open.
And just like you or me, like, you know, just to use a homely example, if somebody wants to talk to me and starts dropping the N-word on me, the conversation is not going to continue.
I mean, it's over.
It's over.
And so, you know, you say globalizing intifada, you say genocide, you say these things that you know are going to shut people down.
And I've asked them this.
I said, why would you do that?
Why would you do that?
And so...
You know, look, if he goes any further, if he becomes the nominee, if he becomes the mayor of New York, you can't succeed in leading this city if you're going to be stubborn on these kind of issues.
You're going to have to be, like I said, a little bit of a diplomat.
Yeah, you know, it's funny.
It's one of these ironies.
He's actually African-American more than you and I. You know, like he's born in Uganda.
He spent time in his childhood in South Africa.
He majors in Africana studies.
And somehow he's getting nowhere with black voters.
I can't figure it out.
He's differently, he's differently African-American.
