Their ideas get laughed at or ignored.
And then at the last minute, the elites are basically saying, oh, no, something's going wrong.
Let's throw some money at it and try and stop this guy.
It seems very wasteful to me.
I mean, these are the people I work with every day.
These young people can be spoken to.
They could come up with centrist solutions that don't panic a lot of people.
They should be encouraged.
And the way things are set up in New York, they really never are.
And that's how we got to where we are.
It's been frustrating, to tell you the truth.
I mean, frankly, if he underperformed, shall we say, when all of the dust settles,
what you just saw will be one of the reasons.
And I say this as somebody who's been around this stuff for a long time, live in Crown Heights, where Black Jewish relations are literally a matter of life and death, like getting it right.
And, you know, as a communicator, Don, if you're talking to certain people about issues that they really care about and there's a word or a phrase that's going to trigger them, that's going to stop them from communicating, that's going to stop them from listening.
Nobody is happy about what is happening in Gaza.
Nobody, including in Israel.
But if you use the word genocide, knowing that your audience or a certain portion of your audience is going to simply tune you out, you really have to ask yourself, is it really worth doing that?
And if you choose to do that, you know, like he said, he doesn't want to be sort of the word police.
OK, fine.
