We retro project kickoffs.
We retro, I mean, our new hires just did not enjoy their retro with me on their advisory project.
But I think it was what they needed, not what they wanted.
Came out of the theme yesterday.
So we have some young team members and we have a lot of new team members this year.
We're very fortunate they've chosen to start their careers with us.
Some of the feedback yesterday in the retro revolved around, well, we need to essentially kind of tailor to some of the newer team members.
We need to simplify things and get to that most common denominator to understand.
And my pretty spicy feedback at the time, you tell me how spicy I was.
was, no, we need to be setting the standard to the highest level.
We need to be showing them what they need to muscle up into and grow up into.
And if they're feeling immersed or even a little bit too saturated, that's a feature, not a bug.
Correct.
Because I think organizations, especially as they start finding success, get in trouble by becoming defensive, making a corporate shift to an immune system too soon, where you've always got to be challenging and saying, we will invest in you, we will support you, we will train you, but
We are training you to be an Olympian.
We are not coming and meeting you down in high school athlete.
Well, it's a challenge too, because if you save them too quickly, you don't know how good of a swimmer they are, and they don't know how good of a swimmer they are.
Correct.
Because fear gets in the way of ability so much.
Now, I think the last core piece of this is this takes a lot of accountability and frankly, a lot of discipline from you and me, from us.
