So I am a net saver and I know we'll talk about that kind of stuff in a minute, but

That makes me happy.

Therefore, that is money and that is how I figured that out.

What changed was when you're young and say you should be, and I'm honest about it, you're pretty selfish and that's fine.

And what I mean by that, don't be upset with me saying that word because

You are you.

And when you come out of your teens, you get away from your parents, it's the first time you realize that actually I'm in control of myself.

And therefore, the only thing you need to worry about is you.

And that is good, right?

That is good.

And go and enjoy that time because that's what I did.

As soon as I finished school, 18, through to I was about 26, 27.

That was how I thought.

And I talk about that in the book.

And again, be honest about it.

If your love at this time in your life is to go and have experiences living overseas or to buy a house because that's what you want to do when you're young or to do X, Y, Z, that's fine.

Understand there's payoffs for that.

So some of those people will tell you that the issue that comes with that is that therefore you haven't started saving it, haven't started investing.

You can still do that.

But even me who now does this as my vocation, I wasn't doing that.
