i'm going to try and say this straight out from the point of view the way i answered that question in the book was to actually make sure i went to the studies because it is becoming one of the fastest growing areas in finance to study relationships and why that's the case i mean i've sort of put a lighthearted story in there again about going back to my university days and about meeting your partner and the probability that your partner is the same as you is near enough to nil um

You'll have same likes, you'll have same interests, but you are different people.

Fundamentally, you are different people.

And as much as you love them, you're going to have different beliefs.

So what the studies show is that those that have what they describe as great or very good relationships are those that talk.

So we've already spoken about that.

The ones that don't.

Don't talk.

And the top five, in the top five, top two, in fact, is finance as reasons for pressure inside relationships.

That's a known known.

What is interesting, though, is about the other thing that studies show is that talking about finance

is actually inside a relationship has been found to be as hard as talking about things like sex, talking about things like your own interpersonal relationships, your own fears.

So, it's in the top four things of talking about that.

And when you listen to those other three, four things, they do sometimes immediately when people hear those words trigger, going, oh, I can't talk about that.

And finance is one of them.

So, that's not surprising because what the surveys find, so this is outside of studies, what surveys find is that

We are unfortunately quite socially ignorant and slightly superficial that one of the three biggest turn-offs inside people in the top five are financial things.
