So we had some strange people in our church, but one guy in particular we had in our church is he thought it was his public service, I think, within the church that if anyone on stage coughed or sniffled, he would just throw cough lollies at them.
and he would um literally in the middle of like praise and worship people be singing and if like if you sniffled you would know you were copying a soother to the head or like a eucalyptus to like the leg or something because he was on it and no one actually ever stopped him which is even stranger but like we all knew on the music team like if that guy was front row you don't want to be sniffling you don't want to be coughing and you don't want to be showing any symptoms
Some people just take it as their job.
We also had a pastor coming to pray for people at the front of church.
And as he was praying for everyone, he was pretty passionate about it.
And he literally was like casting prayers.
out i can't remember exactly but maybe it was like you know come out in the name of jesus or something but as he just was like come out his damn false teeth flew out and hit the poor person in the face and it was pretty awkward because your mom's like don't laugh but the laugh's so hard that reminded me of a story and it's so funny when the giggles happen it's so funny when the giggles happen because you can't turn them off

It sounds like this listener is worried about their friend because they started taking these medications when they're not actually in the patient group they're designed for.
Eating disorders are already rife and they are growing and they are the most deadly psychiatric condition.
So it is really worrying when somebody accesses these drugs and they are not likely to benefit their health, but actually could drive their health to really dangerous underweight territory.
It sounds like her friend has lost so much weight and she's also now losing the ability to interact and she doesn't want to socialize, which are red flags.
Now, of course, the lack of food could be impacting her mental health alongside her diet.
We know that diet and our nutritional status and food intake is tightly linked to mental health.
But it also sounds like GLP-1s in this case are causing harm.
So this is a situation in which medical harm could result from these drugs because they've been taken by a patient who is not actually supposed to be taking them, they're not the right patient group, and they are being followed by a healthcare professional that can advise them.
So I really wish this person the best of luck.
And I recommend they seek specialist advice from a registered dietitian or a service that is specialized with eating disorders.
Best of luck.
Hi Maddy, this is such a good question and thank you for asking it.
I think you're completely correct.
