Yeah, I think the most commonly recognizable ohm inscription are ohm stones where it's carved into essentially a rock. podcast-host

Is it possible that these are just the only surviving inscriptions because obviously stone lasts the test of time in the way that, you know, naturally organic materials like, you know, wood or something like that wouldn't? podcast-host

So is it possible that it was far more widely used? podcast-host

in the early medieval period and we've just lost, you know, the the vast majority of the inscriptions or like do we have any examples of it surviving in wood in contexts where it has been preserved? podcast-host

in some ways it echoes maybe a tombstone, you know, it's a slab with an inscription on it. podcast-host

Have human remains been found beside Ohmstones, like you talked earlier about how they often do have like a the kind of reference a a possessive use of the word. podcast-host

Things like this from the twenty first century, we tend to have a very individualistic understanding. podcast-host

of ownership, property, things like that that are very much associated with one person. podcast-host

But in the early medieval period there was a much more collective kind of kin group understanding of these things that that that property might belong to a much wider group of people. podcast-host
