Remember when you were a kid and you used to flip the corner of your book and you'd draw little stick figures and then as you would flip those pages, an animation would come to life?
Well, inside every digital video is a bit of binary or a little bit of technical information that says every one of those photographs that goes before your eyes to make it look like motion is actually represented as a digital bit.
So inside a video file, if we looked at the internals, if we look at the
A person on the outside, it looks like a person, but if we look through a microscope, we can see the internals and the cells and stuff.
What lives inside video is basically little references, Lego blocks that relate to every single picture that happens a 50th of a second.
And so once you know the internal structures of video,
Then what it allows you to do, it allows you to treat video not as a file, but as a piece of data.
It allows you to reorganise the data to basically build you personalised video without going through all the processes that used to have to be involved.
So it's a fundamental change.
And this is what our core pattern that we designed in 2007 was designed to do, was to rebuild video using the data bits like a database.
What that allows, it allows for artificial intelligence now for you to talk to a piece of AI and say, build me a brand new piece of content out of the trillions of hours of human-created content in three seconds without making a new file.
It allows content owners to sell parts of their content libraries without going to edit suites and making new copies of files.

Now, when you've got the ability to manipulate video at the frame, or we call it the sample level,
it allows a lot of other types of innovations that can sit on top of that.
And that's what the new patent is designed to do.
It's designed to be able to not only manipulate the assembly of those little building blocks so you can deliver personalized video, so you can monetize video, it also allows the ability to identify
and put marks or bits of information around every 50th of a second.
Every one of those little building blocks, the Lego blocks that live inside of video can now be marked at that level with a whole heap of extra information.
