And then they know that loving is their home.
And once they know loving is their home,
they discover they'll never be homesick again because they've connected to their true selves and loving.
But I think it's true that sometimes people's access to knowing that they're unshakably good, which is how God sees them, their access is compromised by their trauma, by their mental illness, by their
broken lives, it's hard for them to see the truth of who they are.
That's kind of the dynamic here at Homeboy Industries, that people are cherished into a place of flourishing, not where they do good and avoid evil, but where they know that they're unshakably good.
That's the truth of who they are.
And then they claim that as their truth, and then they live from that truth, and that changes everything.
Yeah, that's a tough one, because just like I kind of put it in a category of when Jesus sees a guy having a seizure, he and the whole crowd go, oh, he's possessed by a demon.
And Jesus heals him, and I don't disparage or doubt the healing.
I just think his diagnosis was not correct.
because he was not possessed by a demon.
He clearly had epilepsy.
Here's a pill and it'll probably help your seizures.
What do we make of that?
You go, that's okay.
I mean, none of that stuff shakes my faith.
It shapes it, which is the way it's supposed to be.
And you kind of like read scripture and you go, people are doing the best they can.
