The Fear the World Church or Love Your Neighbor Church.

Homeboy Industries wants to be a Love Your Neighbor Church.

But you and I can walk into churches across the country, and we have, where you go, uh-oh, this is a Fear the World Church.

This is Circle the Wagons Church.

Then you can go to another one.

You go, oh, this is Love Your Neighbor Church.

It's not a circle of the wagons.

It's widen the circle.

It's imagining a circle of compassion and then imagine nobody standing outside that circle.

And it's important to talk that way, it seems to me, because then it's about imitating the God of love in the way we worship, in the way we gather, in how inclusive we are.

And do members of the LGBTQ community feel welcome in our churches, or are people too frightened of them?

And it's important to stand clearly for a church that is welcoming and inclusive, and in the end,

Jesus only took four things seriously, inclusion, nonviolence, unconditional loving kindness, and compassionate acceptance.

And that's the church we want to be.

And we can't be dissuaded by whatever other movements there are.

We want to return to the marrow of the gospel.

And Pope Leo has really done this, speaks this so clearly that it's very heartening.

Well, I don't know.

Humiliation is my compass.

So, you know, all the time you're being brought low in a way that you can delight in it and laugh at it.
