people who tell you you're full of it it's like kind of water off a duck's back you want to just you receive it you listen to it you feel it you understand it and then you let go of it as fast as you can both praise and blame otherwise it gets crazy making and so you want to live as though the truth were true and to put first things recognizably first and uh
Like yesterday, I had a homie in my office who was going through a hard time, and I knew he was.
And one of the case managers says, talk to him.
And so he came in, and he said, yeah, I had a hard time last week.
In fact, I was really thinking to end it all.
And then he looked at me, and he said, but then I said, nah, I thought of my dog.
And then he said, and then I thought of you.
And I looked at him and I said, in that order?
And he just, he died laughing.
And I thought, how do we delight in the spirit?
How do you breathe in the spirit that delights in your being?
And how do you breathe that out into the world?
And how do you laugh?
And how do you try to not laugh?
get stuck anywhere, even in a place of great difficulty and despair even.
And how do you know that all we have is each other?
And it was a great moment because it was, how do we move beyond a clinging to how hard things are?
And they're really hard.
And everybody here, I stand in awe
